Growing Gaps in Health and Wellbeing
The Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement operates its health initiatives on the basis that everyone, everywhere should have access to the health services they need, especially during emergencies. Every year, the Movement reaches millions of people with its programmes that improve communities’ health across the globe.
Within Malaysia, MRC collaborates with the Malaysian government and other stakeholders, including civil society organisations and community-led groups, towards the same goal of enhancing health for everyone. Our work engages communities with an inclusive and needs-based approach, through local partnerships that aim to create sustainable impact.
MRC’s health initiatives range from service delivery and capacity building to awareness-building and health advocacy. Community engagement forms a key pillar of our work in designing interventions that address the unique needs of communities. In line with the Movement’s fundamental principles, we engage diverse populations regardless of nationality, religion, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, or geographic locality.
