The Malaysian Red Crescent Society representative attended the Singapore Red Cross Society dinner in commemoration of its 60 years of humanitarian service at the Singapore Swimming Club on 11th September 2009.
The special guests for the dinner were Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Singapore Minister of Community, Development, Youth and Sports and Minister for Health respectively. Malaysian Red Crescent collaborates with the Prodigee Media in the humanitarian campaign namely Malaysia 88 Taiwan Typhoon Campaign with the support from Malaysian Chinese Artistes to alleviate the sufferings of victims Typhoon Morakot.
The campaign was launched yesterday at the Fullhouse Café, Ara Damansara by the Malaysian Red Crescent Secretary General, Mej Gen Dato Hj Megat Mohd Yusof b. Dato Hj Megat Mahmud (Rtd) and the Malaysian Chinese Artistes.
In conjunction with the 60th Geneva Convention Day which falls on 12 August, the Malaysian Red Crescent organized Run for Humanity at Taman Tasik Perdana, Kuala Lumpur on 8 August 2009.
The flag-off was officially launched by the Malaysian Red Crescent’s, National Chairman, YM Tunku Tan Sri Dato’ Shahriman bin Tunku Sulaiman.

The 'Power of 10 Sen, By Children for Children' campaign has raised RM143,730.10 in donations from children and students in schools nationwide.
The prime minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor said the theme "By Children for Children" was fitting with the overwhelming contributions made by children, especially those in the kindergartens, regardless of race or religion.
"In relation to this, parents need to inculcate good values in their children from an early age and emulate the act of contributing," she said. » read more »

CBHFA or Community-Based Health First Aid is a succession from CBFA (Community-Based First Aid) which was first introduced in the 1990's to better respond to ‘improving the situation of the vulnerable people’ by using a community approach through RCRC Volunteers. Now, it has been added value to cater for a wider scope to include disease prevention, health promotion, first aid, disaster preparedness and response in order to meet the needs of the community at large.
